Makoto Satoh
Makoto Satoh is one of the leaders of the small theater movement since the 1960s. He presented a number of performances with the Black Tent in 120 cities throughout Japan for 20 years from 1970 to 1990. In recent years, he has been devoting himself to establish an alternative network for performing arts among neighboring cities in Asia. He is the Artistic Director of ZA-KOENJI Public Theatre (Suginami Art Hall), and in 2017, he opened the Wakabacho Wharf, a private art center with a small theater, a studio, and a dormitory in the downtown of Yokohama.

1960 年代からの小劇場運動の担い手のひとりとして、1970 年から90 年までの二十年間、黒色テントによる全国120 都市におよぶ移動公演をおこなう。近年は近隣アジア都市との舞台芸術のオルタナティヴネットワーク形成に力をそそいでいる。座・高円寺（杉並区立杉並芸術会館）芸術監督。2017 年、横浜の下町に、小劇場、スタジオ、宿（ドミトリー）を併設した民間アートセンター「若葉町ウォーフ」を開設。
